Surgical Facial Rejuvenation
You may also consider surgical facial rejuvenation as an option to refresh your most distinguishing feature. Your face bears the brunt of not only the ageing process but can also be affected by sun exposure, causing premature ageing.
Whether you have deep frown lines or light crow’s feet, surgical facial rejuvenation can be the option to refresh your look. There is really no such thing as a “universal facelift”. But the procedure is aimed at restoring the more youthful contours of your face. It’s also important to ensure this happens in harmony with the rest of the face and neck. And while every surgeon has different preferences of technique, I often combine facial surgery with fat-grafting to improve the area around the mouth and naso-labial grooves (the two skin folds that run from each side of the nose to the corners of the mouth).
In my practice, more women select a neck lift (lower face lift) alone. Fat injections can also be included to give an overall refresh to your face producing a finished look. You may also like to combine your facelift with eyelid, nose and ear procedures.
We will set out a plan together and look at your present condition, your goals and your budget. We will work together to ensure the results I can achieve are realistic and I will discuss this with you.
It is important to remember though, that nothing is permanent. Even though this is a surgical procedure, this “lift” is designed to simply refresh your appearance, with the aim for you to look less tired and drawn.
The results of the surgery will depend on your genetics, age and medical condition as you have a predetermined process of ageing. The process may result in your younger looking self, but that will not be my primary aim. There is no magic “turning the clock back”!
